This editorial piece is themed around the big bang, the story being explained over three spreads; nothing, the chaos and the calm. Each spread takes on a different aesthetic, attempting to recreate the pace and energy of the events taking place.
Spread one focuses on what was before the big bang, nothing; Blank space, non-existence. This is reflected in the use of negative space and type fading from white to grey creating movement leading onto the next page.
Spread two is themed around the actual explosion; bright, colourful, erratic. Using my own illustration as a background I used expressive typography to emphasise the catastrophic events taking place.
The final spread represents the order; the calm ever since, only highlighting the punctuation in white creating the spontaneous patterns of stars whilst using a gloss to reveal the rest of the text.
